Thank you for sharing! Simply lovely!

This photo of my great grandmother made me think of shawls. She was born in 1864 and she died in 1952. She is wearing the typical triangular shawl that was a important part of women’s clothing, far into the 20th century. Here is another photo of her, with two of her daughters. Sveinsína, my grandmother is on the right. Pálína, the younger food trucks denver sister, is on the left.
The pattern is of my favorites, Candle Flame by Dean Crane . The pink shawl is beaded, and I gave it to a very good friend of mine. This purple shawl is also beaded, and knit with the same pattern: This one I kept for myself, and it’s one of my favorites.
I think a new shawl is in order. I only have two really food trucks denver good shawls (the dark blue one and the purple one) and that is not nearly food trucks denver enough for a woman that is never without a shawl or a scarf. In the winter their uses are obvious, but in the summer I use cotton and linen scarfs and big shawls to shield me from the sun. I must avoid the sun , and a good shawl can be a big help – and they look good too.

So many lovely pix – so many lovely shawls! I dislike to knit such, but they are surely a sight to see….. you are very good in doing them! I plan to sew some loop shawl or as I call them Ad Infinitum Muffler ) Already got the material. Can you get Tante Ema fabrics? Unfortunately I can’t open my blog account on Blogger anymore. So I can’t post anything right now. There was maintenance and now all is puzzled up. I hope this problem will be solved soon. Good Night from Germany Beatrice food trucks denver
That’s an impressive collection of hand knitted shawls you have there. Love the fact that you worked the pattern more than once, making small modifications each time to make the next one more personal and a bit more interesting to knit.
